Mr. Kassim Afegbua has insulted the entire people of Ogbonna and by extension Edo state in his rather emotional but irrational reacton to Edo PDP Chairman, Dan Orbih’s statement on $75m loan racketting of the Oshiomhole government.

Mr Afegbua, who is notorious for insulting people, (he had also once or twice insulted Oshiomhole for making a criticism of IBB during the period when Afegua was working for IBB), descended heavily on the PDP state chairman and called him a dunce. He didn’t stop there. He proceeded to insult the people of Ogbonna and the entire Etsako people by describing them as reckless people and incapable of understanding modern economics of corruption that the Edo state government is known to practice.

According to Afegbua, he made the following comments today.

“If Orbih were not a complete dunce, he would have known that World Bank is not like Ogbona Community Bank where you can abuse financial procedures.”

Many people in Ogbonna have started to react to the insensitivity of Afegbua. Prince Oshomah Abu, a noble from Ogbonna has called for apology from Mr Afegbua. Mr Osikhena Audu, a Lagos based Ogbonna philanthropist has described Afegbua as “a spoilt child from little Auchi, if not for being made capital city of Etsako West”.

Mr. Audu called for the resignation of Afegbua over his “childish disposition and frequent insult to the entire Ogbonna people in the guise of fighting Chief Dan Orbih”.

Similarly the Ogbonna Peoples Union has written a petition to the Edo state government, a copy of which was made available to Urhokpota Reporters. In the petition, signed by seventeen persons, the Union called for public apology by Afegbua over his several insults of their clan, which they aver was senior to Auchi and environs in traditional hiarachy.

When contacted for comments, Afegbua refused to answer questions posed by our correspondents. When informed that a petition is being sponsored against him, he only retorted “Let them send their useless petition to the Supreme Court”.
