Obaseki walks out on Ojezua over impeached Speaker, angry at Oshiomhole

Governor of Edo State and leader of the APC in Edo state, Mr Godwin Obaseki, has walked out on the emergency meeting which he summoned at the state APC Secretariat in Benin, under the chairmanship of the Chairman of the APC in Edo state, Barr Anselm Ojezua.

The meeting between Governor Godwin Obaseki and the leadership of the All Progressives Congress APC to resolve the Speaker’s impeachment saga deadlocked on Monday evening.

Soon after the governor stormed out of the meeting held at the party Secretariat along Airport road, looking ruffled, an indication that common ground could not be reached, the meeting was forced to adjourn

Addressing journalist after the end of the meeting, APC Chairman, Mr. Anselm Ojezua said talk is still ongoing to resolve the matter.

“We are talking. As soon as we finish talking, we will let you know of the outcome. But know that we are still talking”, Ojezua stressed.

There is the suspicion that the removal of Dr Okonoboh is being masterminded by a former governor of Edo State who is contesting leadership of the party in Edo State who wants to teleguide this administration to continue to do his bidding through ‘blackmail’ by a House which he could remote control.

It is believed that the plan is to have a controllable House to eventually remove the governor once he starts to act strange.

A master strategy was to vex the  Edo Central people by using the Edo South people to remove the Speaker who is from the region so that when they eventually decide to impeach the governor, an angry Edo Central people at the House would gladly remove the Edo South governor, a case of classical Divide and Conquer.

But political pundits in Edo South, across party lines have resolved to resist Oshiomhole and his schemes hence Obaseki has been advised to try to reverse the travesty that transpired Monday at the Anthony Enahoro Complex.
