I give my support to Dokpesi – Sen Tunde Ogbeha

Former military governor of old Bendel state and Akwa-Ibom state and currently Senator representing Kogi West Senatorial District, Senator Tunde Ogbeha,  retired military General, has endorsed High Chief Raymond Dokpesi for election into the position of PDP National Chairman in the December 9, PDP elective Convention.

Senator Ogbeha made his unequivocal endorsement at his residence in Abuja when Dokpesi led a delegation to see him as part of his wide and extensive consultation across Nigeria.

“Today, I am supporting you. I will use whatever I can to mobilize for you in ensuring you emerge the National Chairman of our great party. So that the party members and Nigerians can benefit from the dividends of democracy.” Ogbeha told Dokpesi.

Sen Ogbeha added that the December 9 National Convention of the PDP is crucial because it could either make or mar the party depending on it’s outcome.

He hailed Dokpesi for his steadfastness a support during the 14 month PDP crisis that almost decimated

Ogbeha confirmed that the PDP actually was behind the formation of APDA, through Dokpesi, as an alternative platform should Sherrif and his men had won in the Supreme Court.

Dokpesi is the only viable person outside the South-West who has indicated interest to contest the position of National Chairman. He is contending with the likes of former Minister of Education, Prof Tunde Adeniran and former Lagos PDP strongman, Chief Bode George.

The PDP National Chairman, Alhaji Makarfi, has said that the PDP has zoned the Presidency to the North and Chairmanship of the Party to the South and that there was no ‘Micro-Zoning’. He however asked the two zones to on their own consult among themselves and produce the best but that the PDP as a party recognised only the broad zoning to the North and South.

Former Military President, General Ibrahim Badamasi Babagida last week received Dokpesi and indicated his nod for Dokpesi to contest for the position.

Meanwhile, Dokpesi who is the founder of the first Satalite television station in Nigeria, Africa Independent Television (AIT) and RayPower and who has extensive political experience, continues his nationwide tours to seek support ahead of the forthcoming Convention.
