Police arrest kidnappers of Ogba Zoo Boss, Andy Ehanire

The Nigeria Police has arrested alleged kidnappers of the chief executive officer of Ogba zoo and brother in-law of General Theophilus Danjuma, Mr Andy Ehanire.

The suspect were arrested in Sapele after intelligence reports by the Police coordinated by the newly appointed Commissioner of Police for Edo state working with his counterpart in Delta State. The new police boss in Edo state, from South West Nigeria, has within 72 hours of taking up his post been able to resolve the security threat that the former commissioner was either unwilling or unable to resolve for many months.

Four suspects were arrested. The suspects were arrested in Sapele Thursday evening in their entertainment joints.

The suspects confessed that they had collected 25 million naira and 100,000 dollars as Ransome for the release of Mr Ehanire, bringing the total ransom to 61 million naira paid for his release.

The suspects confessed that they had to kill the policemen attached to Mr Ehanire because they had earlier attempted to kidnap him but failed. The didn’t want to take any chances.

The sum of 800,000 Naira was recovered from the wife of one of the suspects who is has also been taken into custody, detained for conspiracy.
