Edo Poll APC breaks record – Oyegun is the only voter in his Polling Unit
The election boycott called upon by the opposition party in Edo State, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has overwhelmed the disputed elections being conducted by the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Edo State as unprecedented low turn out mar the election in every polling unit across the state.
According to Mr Ofure Osehobo, a veteran reporter with the Nigeria Union of Journalists Edo State chapter, who covered the poll at Unit 2,Ward 2 where the APC national Chairman votes, it is reported that at at 1.00pm only the APC national chairman, Chief John Oyegun, was available to cast his vote.
“Oyegun was the only voter at unit 2, ward 2, at staff training centre, Benin city” Osehobo reported.
The Polling Unit was virtually deserted at Units 1 & 2, Ward 2 of Oredo LGA, where the APC National Chairman votes.
Apparently in obedience to the boycott order by the Edo State PDP which is not participating in this election, Edo people are mostly at home enjoying their weekend as low turnout of voters characterise Saturday’s APC LG selection process.
More Details as they unfold.
