PDP front line gubernatorial aspirant and pastor of Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, has pledged not to victimise or punish the Edo north senatorial district when elected governor on September 10 because of the ingratitude and harassment that he is suffering in the hands of Adams Oshiomhole whom he helped to become governor of Edo State in 2007 and 2008.

Speaking Thursday at Afuze, in the house of Senator Yisa Braimoh, in the presence of most of the leaders of Edo north and hundreds of followers, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu made a solemn pledge not to do anything to stop whatever project that may have been started by previous administrations in the senatorial district because he considers himself as a son of the soil and that he believes good governance is about continuity, not abandonment of projects.

He promised to do more for the district, by deploying the abundant human and material resources available in the region to develop a solid industrial base for Edo state. He expressed sadness that despite the abundant natural, material and human resources in the district,  the outgoing government failed to attract any industry or factory to the region.

According to Pastor Ize-Iyamu, whatever wrong that may have been done against him by Adams Oshiomhole was not done because Oshiomhole is from Edo north but that Oshiomhole did whatever he did as an individual and that he will be treated as an individual. He promised never to act like Oshiomhole who visits the sins of individuals on the community. He promised, when elected into office, to transform Edo state and emphasis was placed on developing the economic base of the region.

He narrated how he had for several decades been very close to Senator Yisa Braimoh who he said took him as a younger brother and who had shown him love and care over the years. He also noted that the good people of Edo north have been kind to him in many ways.

According to the front liner PDP aspirant, he promised to develop sports, agriculture and solid minerals in the Edo north senatorial district. He said his government would harness the solid minerals potential in the district and attract factories and industries to the state to harness these potentials to transform and unify the state.

“Let me make a firm promise, I pledge before you and before God that when I become governor of Edo state, Edo north will witness greater developments than ever before. I see myself also as a son of Edo north and whatever have been done here by previous administration I will do more. Not much has been done in the two Owan local government areas, in Akoko Edo and in Etsako East and Etsako Central local government areas. Even in Etsako West, the development was restricted to a small community. Edo north has solid minerals everywhere. I am surprised that for eight years no industry or factory was established here. When we come on board, we shall develop and positively transform the whole of Edo state.” Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu said.

Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu also attended the wedding ceremony of Ozeto daughter alongside Senator Yisa Braimoh, Senator Odion Ugbesia, Alhaji Inu Umoru, Chief Ozeto and other notable former and serving political office holders.
