Crisis is brewing in the commercial city of Uromi the capital of Esan North-East Local Government Area as youths are mobilising to storm the council secretariat in protest over the threat to life of a youth leader in the city, Elder Omon Enojie who claim that Mr. Sam Oboh the controversial chairman of Esan North-East LGA threatened his life over critism of the newly commissioned Uromi Market.

The situation in Uromi is also gaining currency on social media across Edo state where many youths from across Edo State have expressed solidarity with Elder Omon Enojie vowing to continue to do so.

Urhokpota Reporters can authoritatively report that the Police and other security aparstus have been put on notice, albeit virtually., of this potentially dangerous situation.

According to a popular Nigerian blogger and traditional activist, Comrade Enabulele Enabulele of the Edo Political Forum, he appealed to Hon Sam Oboh to toe the line of caution. He advised the chairman to respect the right of free speech. In his words; “You have threatened to deal with him and members of his family just because he expressed an opinion and made available some information at his disposal to the General public which is not a crime under any law.. We have acknowledge this threat via a phone call, gladly it was recorded and we would make the Number used in calling and the recorded message available to the Security agencies. Public officers must be responsible and must act in accordance with the provisions of the Constitution which guarantees freedom of expression..

Urhokpota Reporters will give you details as it unfolds.
