The ongoing efforts by the Consumer Protection Council (CPC) led by the Director General, Mr. Babatunde Irukera organised a Town Hall Meeting earlier today for Electricity Consumers in Nekpenekpen, Benin and environs.
The meeting was an engagement between BEDC Plc led by Executive Director, Commercial, Mr Abu Ejoor, CPC and electricity customers.

In his remark the DG declared that CPC had been receiving complaints of mass disconnection, high bills and meter-related issues.
Irukera told participants at the meeting that electricity distribution remained the most problematic among the entire value chain of electricity production from generation to consumption in Nigeria.

On his part the ED, Commercial, BEDC, explained to the participants that even “the power generated to the national grid is not sufficient to service everyone in the country at the moment.”
He urged consumers to fashion out modalities for improved power supply in the area.

At the end of the presentations participants were given opportunity to ask questions. This session later turned rowdy.
